Art-classes are generally a huge hit in schools, and not just because they replace math (although, this is nothing to scoff at either). Art is tolerant of all the mess you make, there are no dumb rules that no one understands, and, best of all, at the end of it you can create beauty. Or at least have a good time trying.
Every year competitions are held at the national level to pick the most talented young artists, in categories from painting is to doll-making and everything in between. After the winners are picked, their works are displayed at various centre across India. This time it's Hyderabad's turn.
Bal Bhavan, at Public Gardens, will house close to 300 works of art by children between the ages of 5 and 16 years. These pieces are winners of the competitions held by the Child Art Club National Council, in the June-July-August period of last year. The judges can not have had an easy time of it.
