Rooted in folklore, this competition presents no paheli - but only pure talent.
The Yuva Arts Theatre Cultural And Social Organisation is conducting the Folk Performing Arts Festival at the City Central Library, today at 6 pm. This festival includes folk dancing and folk singing competitions. Twenty groups from various districts of the state like Srikakulam, Mahaboob Nagar and Medak, will take part in this competition. The participants will be performing the Telangana Folk dances and the Andhra folk songs.
There will also be a felicitation program for three famous folk artists. They are Rasamay Bala Kishan, A S Jangi Reddy and Kotthapalli Venkat Rao. They will be awarded the Jana Pada Kala Ratna award by the chief guest for the occassion, Maragula Nagaphani Sharma. He will also be presenting the mememtos to the winners of the competition.
The other guests include CAPCO Chairman, Mandedi Krishna Reddy; A P Library Chairman, Kuchipudi Samba Siva Rao; Nutrition Consultant, Dr. Venkat; and the chief-editor of the Vishwambara Weekly, Sai Kumar Reddy.
