Ashok Goka is exhibiting his collection of oil paintings, Sri Shiva Lingas In Art Form, at Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts, from 25th October to 6th November. These lingas have been designed in different shapes framing Lord Shiva's vehicle - Nandi, the sacred bull.
Ashok Goka holds a BFA degree in painting from the College Of Fine Arts, JNTU. He has worked as a drawing and painting teacher at various schools, and is currently working in JNV School, Kaghaznagar. He has been exhibiting his paintings since 1987, and won appreciation and several awards, such as the APKCP Award from Amalapuram for 5 years; the Acharya Devo Bhava VA Puraskar for 4 years, the Merit Of Excellence from Nikethan, Chennai; the Highly Commendable Award from LKP, Bapatla; the Merit Award Guru Dronacharya Samman from Avantika, New Delhi; the Certificate Of Appreciation from Camlin Limited, Mumbai; and the Best Drawing Master Award from Center For Indian Art Resource Training, New Delhi.
