Chitramayee - State Gallery Of Fine Arts is organising an exhibition of paintings by Kalakar, from 6th to 11th November. There are about 20 paintings on display, about the great Indian temple sculpture.
Kalakar is known for his paintings on temple sculpture, which resemble photographs. He has travelled across India to various temple towns such as Konark, Khajuraho, Ananthapur and Kurnool, and has carefully observed the stone carvings. Most of the paintings are onfield, and he has taken care of every minute detail from the sculpture.
Kalakar is a 27-year-old young artist from Bangalore, and has a TTC in fine arts. He had solo exhibitions at Shilparamam in Hyderabad and Kalakshetram in Kadapa, and group shows at Chitrasanthe in Bangalore and C P Brown Library in Kadapa.
