The Central Court Hotel at Lakdi-ka-Pul is presenting a Chettinad Food Festival, from 30th November to 9th December. The in-house team of chefs Akbar, Azan and Harpreet Singh will prepare some of the appetizing aromatic dishes of the Chettiars.
The festival will have mouth-watering dishes like Koli Sukha, Poricha Meen, erra Chettinad, Vazhakkai Podhimas, Enna Kartrikai, Chettinad Biryani, Chettinad Chicken, Chow Chow Koottu, Meen Veruval, Meen Manga Kozhambu, Keerai Poondu Massial, Vazhakkai Pulikulambu Vegetable Perattal, Vella Mangai Pachadi, Vendakkai Mandi and Vendakkai More Kulambu. Paal Paniyaram and Elaneer Payasam are the desserts providing the final touch to the menu.
Tamil Nadu brings to one's mind the taste of idlis, dosas, sambar, vadas and many different chutneys. Most of the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes of the state feature a generous use of fresh ground spices and coconut. The final tempering of the dishes with oil, mustard, curry leaves, red chillies and urad dal most times is a common practice. The Achis of the Chettiar community (the business community of one of the regions) in Tamil Nadu use a lot of sun-dried vegetables and meats in their dishes.
Enjoy the dishes during the festival for a la carte lunch and buffet dinner, at Rs. 285 per adult and Rs. 150 for a child.
