Serengeti, the multi-cuisine restaurant of Ohri's Banjara on Road No. 12, is organising a food festival of the Nawabi city of Lucknow, from 7th to 16th December. Expert chef Rasheed has been specially flown in from Lucknow to treat Hyderabadis to a special menu of the Nawabs.
The wide spread consists of authentic royal delicacies such as Kakori Kebab, Gilawati Kebab, Dora Kebab, Murg Awadhi Biryani, Nihari Gosht, Gobi Musallam, Ulta Tawa Paratha, Tandoori Roti, Sheermal, Taftaan, Shahi Tukda, Taal-e-Shabnam, Lazeez Lauki Kofta, Sultan-e-Dal, Chandni Murgh Lucknowi, Murgh Joshina, Taal-e-Shabnam and Murgh Joshina. There are also the Shahi Pulao, Lucknowi Biryani, Rumali Roti, Tandoori Roti, Aloo Paratha, Pudina Paratha and the Masala Kulcha. And for those with a sweet tooth, there are the Malai Peda, Sugandhi Petha, Angoori Petha, Rabdi and ice-creams.
Lucknowi food is known for the Mughal style of tandoori cooking. Most of the cuisine is highly spicy and aromatic, and the speciality here are the kebabs. These kebabs can be found in most lanes of the city, served piping hot from the tandoors, with the magical pudina chutney.
