Alankritha Art Gallery is organising an exhibition of paintings by Shrikant Kolhe, from 3rd to 12th December. The works have been titled Life Corner '07C, and there are about 25 paintings on display.
Kolhe has chosen a small part of his entire tall canvas to light up and focus what he intends to show. On a dark canvas, he has painted a focus lamp which brightens the small portion, i. e. the corner of a house, and reveals the lonely life there.
Born in 1965, Shrikanth is a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and also holds an Art Teacher Diploma from the Chitrakala Mahavidyala, Nagpur. He has participated in various solo and group shows at Jahangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Kala Mandir, Hyderabad; Scribble Artist Together, Hyderabad; Rail Rang Shatabdi, Mumbai; Nagpur University Diamond Jubilee Celebrations; Daira Art Gallery, Kalahita Art Foundation, and Lakshana Art Gallery, Hyderabad; and Barli Museum, Indonesia. He was awarded the Camlin Certificate of Merit for 82-83, 86-87 and 87-88, and First Prize at the Kaladirgha Art Exhibition, Tumsar.
