Shilparamam is organizing a Carnatic vocal concert by Varanasi Sri Soumya on 29th June. Sri Soumya, a renowned vocalist, will be rendering some popular numbers by Thyagaraja, Annamacharya and Ramadasa.
Varanasi Sri Sowmya, who is under the tutelage of Neeta Chandra Sekhar, has blossomed into a fine vocal artist. Right from a young age she showed keen interest in learning classical music, and received prizes in competitions conducted by SICA, Navya Nataka Samithi, Kalasagaram and other associations. She has already performed in many sabhas in the city and also at Chennai. She has received the Ugadi Puraskaram, the CCRT Scholarship, the Delhi Telugu Academy Award and more, and has sung in many albums too. She is currently a B Tech student.
