The Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association, in association with the Anand Nagar Welfare Association Sports Academy (AWASA), is organising the Inter-School Table Tennis Championships, on 28th and 29th June, at the Anand Nagar Community Hall, Khairatabad.
The tournament will include both doubles and singles matches, for boys and girls from various schools. There will be 2 categories in singles, category 1 including students in 8th, 9th and 10th standards, and category 2 including students upto 7th standard. The doubles matches, though, do not have any such categories, and the students are free to pair up with anybody from any class. The winner and runner-up in each category will be presented with trophies and mementos.
The Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association was registered and established in 1964. It has produced national and international players including Mir Kasim Ali, Shubham Sharma, Jitender, Nikhat Banu and CHSSV Ramana. The Association has organized many national and international events in Andhra Pradesh including the Pent-Angular championship, the Golden Jubilee Senior Nationals and Junior Nationals, the Commonwealth TT Championship, the IX Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship, and 4 national ranking table tennis championships.
