Carnatic Vocal By Leelavati: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR CARNATIC VOCAL BY LEELAVATI

Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by Leelavati, on 19th April. Accompanying her will be J Sai Baba on the violin and Srinivas on the mridangam. Leelavati will be reciting a couple of Ramadasa keertanas, and other devotional numbers in Gajananam in Naata ragam, Sri Saraswati in Atana ragam, Dattatreya in Aarabi ragam, Rama Bhakti in Sudda Bangala ragam, Ennaganu in Pantuvarali ragam and Paluke Bangaara Mayena in Ananda Bhairavi ragam.

Leelavati learnt music initially from Revati Ratanaswamy, and is currently learning from Dr. K Sheshulatha Viswanath. She was a music teacher in BHEL Higher Secondary School for 20 years, and later worked with the Hyderabad Central University for 2 years. Currently she is working with Shilparamam in the music training center. She has performed in many channels like ETV, Gemini TV and Doordarshan, and also at many cultural venues in Hyderabad including Thyagaraja Gana Sabha and Ravindra Bharathi. She also has many concerts in light music to her name.
