As part of its weekly programs of music and dance, Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by G Visalakshi on 12th April. Accompanying her will be Rajeshwar Rao on the violin and Srikanth on the mridangam.
Visalakshi will be singing some Annamacharya keertanas and Ramadas keertanas, and some light music tunes, such as Padamule Chalu in Shankarabharam ragam, Kailasagiri Nundi in Kanakaangi ragam, Namo Namo in Sindhu Bhairavi ragam and Thillana in Khamas ragam.
Visalakshi is a disciple of Dr. Seshulatha. She did her masters in Carnatic vocal from the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, and is a B-grade artist of the All-India Radio and Doordarshan. She has performed at many prestigious cultural venues in Hyderabad such as Thyagaraja Gana Sabha and Ravindra Bharathi. She stood first in competitions held by the Department Of Culture, Andhra Pradesh.
