To eulogize him would be mocking at the limitation of the English language for enough words of praise. To put it simply, he remains the patron saint of literature and the arts in India. His compositions are a different genre in themselves. He made us realize that even people with darker skins can win the Nobel Prize.
And on the occasion of his birth anniversary, a celebration of his life is mandatory. Because it made history. On this day, Tagore's scriptures and plays are staged and songs are sung across Bengal and other parts of India. The multi faceted genius' contribution towards art is celebrated throughout the country.
