The Hyderabad branch of ISKCON is conducting a Bhakti Yoga summer camp at the ISKCON temple located in Secunderabad. This camp is being conducted exclusively for children aged between 5 and 15 years.
The Bhakti Yoga camp, which is been conducted every summer since 12 years, concentrates mainly on promoting the Indian culture. It aims at enhancing leadership qualities in children, and improving their communication skills. Children attending this camp will be taught yoga and meditation skills, and the recital of the Bhagavad Gita will be helpful in the development of the character of the children. Along with these, painting or music are also taught, depending on the interests of the children.
Children will hear speeches of swamijis and devotees during their camp time. Some of the speakers are Bhakti Raghava Swamy, a sanyasi (renunciate) from Canada; Sahadev, President of ISKCON; Neel Madhav, camp co-ordinator, and Sri Jeeva, a devotee. The speeches will be on Krishna Tatva, and many more concepts which will be helpful in character building. Except Bhakti Raghava Swamy, all speakers are from Hyderabad.
This camp is starting from 11th May and lasts till 18th May. The intake of the students is limited, and a fee of Rs. 150 is being collected per child. The camp commences at 8:30am and will last till 1pm each day.
