Secunderabad Club Badminton Tournament: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR SECUNDERABAD CLUB BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

The Secunderabad Club is organising its annual badminton tournament for the members of the club, from 16th to 20th May, at the club's badminton courts. There are various categories in which the matches will be played, as below:

Boys Under-16 singles and doubles
Girls Under-16 singles and doubles
Under-16 mixed doubles
Boys 16 years to 21 years singles and doubles
Girls 16 years to 21 years singles and doubles
16 years to 21 years mixed doubles
Senior boys singles and doubles
Senior girls singles and doubles
Senior mixed doubles
Veteran singles and doubles

The matches, except the semifinals and the finals, will all be of one set of 21 points, while the semifinals and finals will be best of three mini-sets. Cash awards will be given to the winners, losing finalists and semifinalists.

The Secunderabad Club is one of five oldest clubs of India, established in 1878. The club has excellent recreational facilities including those for indoor and outdoor sports including squash, table tennis, carroms, chess, cricket, badminton and tennis, and a jogging track. It also has a mini supermarket, an advanced gym, a petrol bunk, restaurants and cottages. Membership to the club is exclusive and difficult to obtain, with waiting periods of upto 15 years.
