Once Upon A Time, the multi-cuisine restaurant of Hotel Green Park, is presenting Viva Goa, a Goan food festival, from 9th to 18th May. Expert chefs from Goa, Terezhina and Ivo, have been specially flown in to create the magic of the spicy and tangy Goan cuisine.
The dishes can be had only for dinner, and the buffet costs Rs. 375 + taxes per head. The items in the buffet change everyday, and some of the main course items are Prawn Balchao, Crab Xac Xac, Calde-De-Verde, Xacuti De Cabrito, Lamb Vindaloo, Calddo-De-Cabrito, Galhina-De-Cafrael, Pomfret Recheiado, Chicken Xacuti, Sannas, Formiyan De Verde, Croquettee-De-Galinha and Tamdi Bhaji. The desserts like Bebinca, Dodol and Bolo-de-Rulao too are bound to leave you licking your fingers and wanting more.
Goan food is simple but most, though not all, of it is chilli hot, spicy and pungent. Items made from rice, fish and coconut abound in nearly every Goan meal. Seafood such as prawns, lobsters, crabs, pomfrets, clams, ladyfish, mussels, and oysters is used to make a variety of curries, fries, soups and pickles. Besides fresh seafood, dried and salted fish dishes are also highly prized by Goans.
