Sadhu Vaswani International School is conducting a summer camp, Srujan '08, from 2nd May to 24th May, at Kompally. The 3 weeks of activities and fun are open for students in the age group of 3 to 14 years, and aim to develop them while simultaneously bringing out the creativity in them.
The activities include yoga & meditation; freestyle dancing; martial arts (karate); "colours & more"; "wealth out of waste"; abacus for mathematics & calculations; outdoor skating; sports such as tennis and cricket; and professional subjects like photography & videography. A participant can select a maximum of two activities, and each costs Rs. 500.
The Mira Movement in Education was born out of the vision of a philosopher and an educationist - Sadhu Vaswani, a distinguished professor and principal of prestigious institutions. Sadhu Vaswani was a visionary who believed deeply in the cause of women's education long before feminism was even thought of. He founded the St. Mira's School in Hyderabad (Sindh) in 1933. After the partition, Sadhu Vaswani selected Pune as the headquarters for his work. His work is spread across the country, and SVIS in Hyderabad is one of the many branches.
