An arts and crafts summer camp is being organised by the Department Of Culture, Government Of Andhra Pradesh. It will be a rare opportunity for students to acquire the theoretical knowledge, and the basic skills of traditional crafts. The camp will include sessions on paper-mask making, paper puppets, Nirmal painting, Kalamkari, Cheryal painting and terracotta artefacts.
Extensive training will be given for a month for pencil drawing, oil painting and watercolor painting. The classes will be taken by experts and trained professionals. A fee of Rs. 300 will be charged per course, and the State Gallery Of Fine Arts will be providing all the required material. The duration of each course will be 2 hours per day.
Morning Session will be between 9.00am and 11.00am and will include:
Kalamkari: 2005-05-01
Paper-puppet making: 10-05-2005 to 20-05-2005
Cheryal painting: 01-05-2005 to 15-05-2005
Nirmal painting: 01-05-2005 to 10-05-2005
Terracotta: 01-05-2005 to 08-05-2005
Evening Session will be between 5.30pm and 7.30pm and will include:

Pencil drawing: 01-05-2005 to 31-05-2005
Watercolour painting: 01-05-2005 to 31-05-2005
Oil painting: 01-05-2005 to 31-05-2005
The camp proposes to reach out to a wide section of children, youth and adults, in order to spread awareness and appreciation of visual arts, and traditional crafts of Andhra Pradesh.
