Annamacharya Keerthanas By Vipanchi: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR ANNAMACHARYA KEERTHANAS BY VIPANCHI

Vipanchi Music Academy is organising a concert on Annamacharya kritis on the eve of the 600th birth anniversary of the great saint, on 1st May, at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha located in Chikkadpally. The concert will have about 20 students of Vipanchi Music Academy performing, all students of M Sasidhar Sarma. These vocalists will be accompanied by Jayakumaracharya on the tabla and M Sashidhar Sarma on the keyboards.

M Sasidhar Sarma, a keyboard player, Carnatic and light music vocalist, is the founder and main teacher at Vipanchi Music Academy, established six years ago. He learnt Carnatic vocal music from his mother Chandrakantamma who moulded him into a fine musician - and he is a self-taught artist in playing the keyboard.

Vipanchi Music Academy, based in Siddipet of Medak district, has organized many events under his leadership, including concerts of legends K V Mahadevan, K Vishwanath and S P Balasubramanyam.
