Al-Burp: The Arabian Food Festival: Events in Hyderabad

Arabs plunder this city yet again. This time they prefer the vehicle of banquets to beasts.

The RV restaurent of the Celebrity Hotel is wooing the gourmands to its grotto. Well its got the Arabian genie serving those lip-smacking cuisines from the land of the caliphs. This restaurent is presenting the 10 day Arabian food festival. This 4 course buffet has soups for starters, followed by the salads, then the main course, and finally the dessert.

There are 6 varieties of salads available. They are Laban, Fatoosh, Tabulai, Salata, Plain Laban and Hamooz. There are 9 items available for the main course, out of which 4 are vegetarian dishes, and 3 are non-vegetarian dishes. These maincourse dishes include Bijaj Misri Marij, Fafalai Khadra Malabi, Shaarna, Faquda, Aziria, Nazala Zehra, Rezma Banadoro, Kawaz and Faaraqa Battata.

For the desserts, there is Mahalabia, Bakkalwa and Hareez. Don't forget to try Tabulai, a special salad of vegetables dressed in olive oil; a chicken dish called Shabarna, which has chicken cooked in fire and stuffed in a special type of bread called Kabooz; and Bakkalwa, which is a dessert made of all dry fruits. These dishes come with special recommendations from the chef himself.

The place is done up in beautiful Persian curtains, with the waiters dressed in Arabic robes. You can also get to hear some soothing Persian numbers. RV is also serving some Turkish coffee and tea, while you laze around and take deep breaths from the lovely hookkas.

Love to eat good arabian foods specially the Sea Food.
