"Music when it flows from him, you can realize what the crazy Gopies felt in their ecstasy of divine love. To be born with music in his heart, to hold a recital at a tender age, to be at once a master in many instruments apart from the unfailing purity of voice, taal and raag: these are indeed preciously rare in a single person unless he is a genius."
There is only one name that sprigs up as soon as we think about Carnatic music - Dr. Mangalampally Balamurali Krishna. He's a living legend that TIME magazine has declared as one among the only 100 distinguished personalities from different walks of life of the previous century.
At the age of 71, he still sings cheerfully with the infectious smile packed with the same melody and timbre as earlier. His store of vast knowledge in music and music therapy, has been utilized to benefit the art-form by millions. Here's our chance to learn something from the maestro.
In association with the APTDC, Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna will conduct a workshop on Carnatic music for all the enthusiasts of the twin cities. Everyday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Shilparamam will witness the legend passing on his invaluable tips to the music lovers.
On the last day of the workshop, he will grace the city with a live performance. Make sure you do not miss out on meeting with a true genius at work.
