If you're tired of cribbing about how even Sangeet has betrayed you, and how Hyderabad gets to watch none of the gems of international cinema, then this one's for you. The British Council brings to the city six samples of contemporary English cinema.

The film festival, called Screenplays, showcases movies that have been adapted from theater. Famous British plays that have inspired films like The Caretaker, Under Milk Wood, A Man For All Seasons, Educating Rita, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

If serious cinema is what you've been craving, then visit Sarathi Studios in Ameerpet, for five days in a row to get your fill. Screenplays, is part-three of the British Council film festival called Spooling Stories, that is touring the country.
