Shilpi's neat 9-yard wraps have kept the silkworms busy this season. Check out Meena Varma's boutique for designer saris, salwar kurtas and dupattas. In a first of its kind exhibition-cum-sale, Meena Verma brings the designs of Shilpi to our very own Hyderabad.
Shipli is a store owned by Arundhati Menon in Chennai. The saris, salwar kurtas and dupattas there are primarily made of cotton, tussar, jute and silk. The wear is hand-woven and block-printed, and includes a plethora of tribal and folk motifs. Vishnupuri silks, Bangladeshi Daccaish, Jamdanis, Tangails and Koras have been used in plenty.
The colors are bright, and the look spells elegance. The collection also revives ancient designs and brings them forth with a touch of modernity.
