600th Annamayya Jayanthi Celebrations By Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR 600TH ANNAMAYYA JAYANTHI CELEBRATIONS...

The Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini, in association with the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams and the Department Of Culture, is organising the 600th Annamayya Jayanthi celebrations from 11th to 17th May, at the ABV campus in Annamayyapuram, Hitex Road. The week-long celebrations will feature several music and dance concerts by children, youngsters and seniors, as below:

11th May
6:00pm - Annamacharya Sankeertanas by K Sravani, Krishna Chaitanya, Deepthi Madhuri, Raghu, V Sowmya, Neeharika, Prachotan and K Jayaram (all kids)

12th May
6:00pm - Annamacharya Sankeertanas by Garimella Balakrishna Prasad & G V N Anil Kumar

13th May
6:00pm - Alamelumanga Vilasam dance ballet by B Sivanand & party

14th May
6:00pm - Annamacharya Sankeertanas by B Saandip, K Jyotsna, P Radhika, V V S Vasanthi, K Ujwal Kumar, Kiran Mangalampalli, Vedavalli, Durga Sindhura, K Archana and Ravali (all students of ABV)

15th May
6:00pm - Felicitation on Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Sangeetha Choodamani and Nadayogi Dr. Nedunuri Krishnamurthy
6:30pm - Annamayya Harikatha by Vedavyasa Sriram Bhattar

16th May
6:00pm - Swara Neerajanam - Annamacharya Sankeertanas by vocalists Vedavati Prabhakar, Surekha Murthy, Devi Ramana Murthy, Nityasanthoshini, Sriram Kaushik, D V Mohana Krishna, M Pradeep, Ravi Varma and Saandip

17th May
6:00am - Mahanagara Sankeertana - A procession by the students, devotees and art-lovers from the Chikkadpally Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, singing the songs of Annamayya, all along to the statue of Annamayya on the Tankbund. Dr. Shobha Raju leads the procession. B Sandeep and Srikanth will participate dressed as Lord Venkateswara and Annamayya respectively.
7:30am - Rendering of Annamayya songs, harathi and distribution of prasadam at Tankbund Annamayya Statue
6:00pm - Annamacharya Sankeertanas competition

Each day, there will be a group chanting of Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lakshmi Ashtottaram and Annamayya Ashtottaram at 5pm, and Harathi and distribution of prasadam at 8:30pm.

ABV was established in 1983 by Dr. Shobha Raju, a maestro in the recital of Annamacharya Sankeertanas and a devoted preacher of the saint, who rendered yeoman service of spreading universal love through Annamacharya compositions.
