No stumbling block is a small stumbling block when you are a small-timer, and making forecasts is a luxury budding fashion designers can ill-afford. Except that providence put Jiten around.
Jiten Kavoori, a fashion aficionado, is a Hyderabadi who shuttles frequently between Bangalore and Hyderabad to organize/choreograph fashion shows, and has been in the business for the past eight years. Jiten's efforts have always been to showcase designers through his fashion shows, and he believes that fashion shows should be about clothes, designers, new cuts and patterns.
Jiten has to his credit, shows that he's organized for the launch of Qwiky's, and for the products of Hero Honda, Pepsi and Bacardi. Food Meets Fashion is an event typical of Jiten, where local designers will be center stage, and not so much the choreographer or the 'free welcome drink'.
To showcase his talent afresh, Jiten is this time, in association with Dazzle Media, set to exhibit Hyderabad's talents, both in couture and on the catwalk. This will be a show "celebrating innovation and enterprise". The organizers are not going to charge anything from the designers.
Even though an interesting crop of new designers has already been selected to display their works, the organizers are open to accepting collections from other local designers as well.
