You certainly deserve your Saturday evenings cooler than how late-March delivers them. Fortunately, Shilparamam always makes up.
Shilparamam, as part of its weekly program of classical music, is presenting a veena recital by Ananda Rajyalakshmi, this Saturday. She will be supported by Kapa Srinivasa Rao on the mridangam. Rajyalakshmi will start the recital with a Varnam in Valaji ragam, followed by Raghunayaka in Hamsadhwani ragam and a couple of other kritis.
Rajyalakshmi is lecturer in music at Sri Thyagaraja Government College Of Music And Dance, Ramkote, for 20 years now, and is an A-grade artiste of the All-India Radio. She learnt veena under Vainika Siromani Vasa Krishnamurthy, in Vizag. She has performed at several places like Vizag, Vijayawada, Srikakulam, Rajahmundry, Goa, Bangalore, Bijapur, Berhampur, Puri and Jeypore (Orissa), besides Hyderabad.
