The only thing that's better than someone telling you that you have done a great job is that someone telling the rest of the world that you've done a great job. And that's the great job being done by Jangaiah's organization.
Established around 13 years back by Leela Jangaiah, a prominent writer who has authored about 50 books on Telugu literature, the Vaasavi Art Theater has been felicitating nine renowned personalities who have been giving both financial and physical support for the growth of society.. And even after Jangaiah's passing away a couple of years back, the 10-year-old tradition is being continued by his son Sreedhar.
For this year, the Vaasavi Nava Ratna Awards will be given to Alimella Sudarshan (Jagityala), Erukula Ramakrishna (Bhongir), Ch Raghuramulu (Hyderabad), Dr P Gopal (Naagar Kurnool), Venkat Narayana (Peddapally), V Nagabhushanam (Hasanpatri), B Srinivas (Karimnagar) and two others (yet to be decided). All of these have contributed their own money to help in building temples in their village and hostels for children, and in general for their villages' welfare. And they will all be felicitated with a shawl and memento on the occasion.
