The 50th Annual Urdu festival begins in the city on the 22nd of February, which offers a chance to all the Urdu medium students to display their skill and mastery in the language.
This 3-day festival being organised at the Osmania University campus is a chance for all the Urdu enthusiasts to participate in various cultural and literary events, which are going to be conducted to promote the language.
Students from more than 26 colleges are expected to attend this festival, which was inaugurated by Suleiman Siddiqui, Vice-Chancellor of Osmania. The events range from Poetry recitation to Debates in the sher-shayari mode, spot lectures in chaste Urdu to essay writing competitions. The festival this year will also feature a new Fasiuddin Trophy being awarded to the best participating college.
