If you are thinking that PHL games have concluded and that the city is back to its sedate pace then think again, because from the 21st of this month, our city will host the Xth National Youth Festival, which promotes the feeling of oneness and unity among all the sections of youth from all the various parts of the country.
This annual event acts as a platform for the youth of the nation to come together and put forward their views and problems alike before the lawmakers and also take definite initiatives to improve the standards tomorrow's architects of our nation.
This year, the legendry Kapil Dev and the present youth icon, Sania Mirza will be the special attractions, which will be inaugurated by Governor Sushil Kumar Shinde at Lal Bahadur Stadium on Sunday evening. Mr. Kapil Dev will take part in the program, Suvichar (good thinking) on the first day, which aims to educate the youth about the importance of positive thinking. Sania Mirza will take part in the program on the second day.
As a part of the cultural events which will go on simultaneously, over 16 ghazal singers from all across the country will take part in the ghazal programs to be held on the 22nd, 23rd, 24th at Lalitha Kala Thoranam.
The event is being sponsored and organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, which previously conducted the Afro-Asian games and the National games.
