Mixing business with pleasure is frowned upon in certain circles, and cocking a snook at all of them is a college which is swirling education into the cocktail too!
The School of Management Studies, University of Hyderabad, is organising Unnati 2007, an inter-collegiate management festival, at the campus of the university on 9th and 10th February. This festival is an event eagerly awaited by college students of town. The 2-day fest hosts many fun-filled activities which test the IQ, presence of mind and the all-round skills of participants. The events are as below:
Razzmatazz - A potpourri of events to let the world know about your varied talents and skills, like Antakshari, Singing Competition, Talent Hunt and Tattoo Designing.
MAN'euvre - An HR event which tests budding managers on a distinctive set of skills, viz. Subject Content in HR/OB, Communication Skills, Presentation Skills, Innovation/Creativity, Team Co-ordination and Spontaneity.
Magnum Opus - A paper presentation event which cover the topics of Finance, Entrepreneurship, Operations Management, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Information Technology.
Exquizit - A rapid fire business quiz which ranges from current affairs to corporate affairs.
Bullions - A finance event which tests the participant's investment acumen and ability to catch the market pulse.
Checkmate - A strategic management event which requires the participants to anticipate and make strategic moves before the opponent does.
Alchemist (for budding entrepreneurs) - A thought-provoking game in which you must build a business plan with the constraints given. Participants will be given 3 major keywords which they will have to link and build a lucrative empire.
Titan (Smart Manager) - This event tests the logical, analytical, psychological, social, emotional, philosophical et al., capabilities of the participants. It makes one understand what a panel discussion is and how it would be conducted.
Logic-Stix - This simulated game tests one's competence in the logistics field.
Ad-Traction - A marketing event which exposes the participants to a variety of intriguing aspects of advertising. The participants of the events will be driven to strike a balance between the advertising culture and principles of a product belonging to one sector and those of another sector.
The registration charges are Rs. 100 per participant, and they entitle participation in one or all of the events. Prizes worth Rs. 1 lakh, both in cash and goodies, will be given to the first and second placed winners in all categories.
The School Of Management Studies commenced functioning in the Central University campus from 1999. Apart from offering a 2-year full-time residential MBA program and a PhD program in management studies, it promotes faculty and doctoral research, training and many outreach activities in the corporate and development sectors.
