Ugadi Puraskarams By Aradhana: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR UGADI PURASKARAMS BY ARADHANA

It's Ugadi time, and that means some much-deserved recognition for people who do not make it into the limelight since they are too busy with their toil and moil. Aradhana is presenting the Ugadi puraskarams for the year 2006 to eminent personalities, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha this Wednesday. The list of awardees for this year are:

Pulivarthy Krishnakumari, Ex. Asst. Chief Managing Officer, Industrial Development Bank of India
Abdul Haque, Executive Director, BC Corporation, Khammam
V Ramana Reddy, District Backwards Castes Welfare Officer, Hyderabad
B Venkataiah, ACTO, Commercial Taxes, Hyderabad
Dr U R Ramesh, Government Veterenary Doctor, Gadwal
T Bala Chander, District Backwards Castes Welfare Officer, Medak

The chief guest for the awards function is Padmabhushan and Gnanpeeth awardee Dr C Narayana Reddy, and the function will be inaugurated by Kala Venkata Deekshitulu, President of Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Chikkadpally. The other guests for the evening are Dr K V Krishnakumari, renowned writer; A Savaranna, District Backwards Castes Welfare Officer, Khammam; and Siddam Madhavi, Gemini TV newsreader.

On this occasion, Mallela Sudhakar will perform sound imitation, ventriloquism and mimicry. Sudhakar is a Limca Book Record Holder for performing more than 100 sound imitations.
