The Village Development Society of Hyderabad, together with the Development Commissioner of Handicrafts, Government of India, is organising an exhibition-cum-sale of Indian handicrafts from 1st March, at the President Function Hall, Tarnaka crossroads. A small exhibition containing about 30 stalls, this has on display:
Cane furniture from Assam
Cane and bamboo basketry from North-East states
Wood carvings from Uttar Pradesh
Terracota from Uttar Pradesh
Jewelry
Metalware art from Hyderabad
Jute bags, wall-hangings and other items from West Bengal
Embroidery bags from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh
Hand-printed woven textiles from Andhra Pradesh
Pochampally, Venkatagiri and Gadwal saris
Bedcovers from Madhya Pradesh
