Ugadi Felicitation By Jyotsna Kalapeetham: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR UGADI FELICITATION BY JYOTSNA...

Jyotsna Kalapeetam is organising a Sri Sarvadhari Nama Samvatsara Ugadi Sahiti Satkara Pradhanotsavam (Ugadi felicitations in short), on 11th April at Sri Thyagaraja Gana Sabha, Chikkadapally. The program will begin with the traditional lighting of the lamp, and will see the presentation of Ugadi Sahiti Satkara Pradhanotsavams to various personalities for excellence in their fields.

The chief guests for the awards function are Padmabhushan and Gnanpeeth awardee Dr. C Narayana Reddy, Secretary of the Andhra Saraswath Parishad Acharya Elluri Siva Reddy, renowed poet Acharya C Ananda Ramam, Registrar of the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University Acharya T Gowri Shanker, and Viswa Sahiti founder and renowed poet Dr. P Sambasiva Rao.

On this occasion, there will be a Kuchipudi dance recital by Himagiri Kuchipudi Nritya Academy.

Jyotsna Kalapeetam was founded in 1997 by S Sarath Jyotsna Rani, who is a Professor in the Hyderabad Central University's Telugu Department. The organization has been encouraging young talent in poetry by giving awards and rewards. The organization is conducting 3 major events every year - the Jandhyala Gold Medal which will be given to all comedians, the Sugandhamayi Sahiti Puraskaram which includes a cash award of Rs. 5,116 to people who excel in Sahityam, and Ugadi Puraskarams to 9 personalities who have excellence in their fields.
