Taj Banjara is organizing a 10-day Turkey food festival, and as part of it has specially flown down Chef Mehmet Koyuncu. Chef Koyuncu is a specialist in preparing Turkish dishes. He has 7 years of experience in the hospitality industry in various parts of Africa and Asia, and is trained in Kempinski Hotel in Dubai and in Djibouti. He also specialises in Italian, Arabic, African, Vietnamese and French cuisine.
Compared to Indian dishes, Turkish cuisine has less spices. It's a mix of Greek, Arabic and European cuisine. Tomato paste is a basic ingredient, so Turkish cuisine is more tangy than being spicy and hot, unlike Indian cuisine.
Some of the Turkish specialties that will be available during the food festival are Haydari, Tabbouleh, Tzatziki, Turkish style vermicelli soup, Turkish coban salad, Turkish sac kavurma, Shavurma Kebab, Adana Kebab, Mussaka, cheese with walnut, and butter and parsley pesto sauce.
