B Karuna will display her art at Shrishti Art Gallery for a period of 11 days, from 11am to 7pm. An exhibition of surrealistic art, this one has on display 20 black and white drawings (ink on paper), and 3 acrylic paintings on canvas. Most of her paintings showcase Nature, the artist's feelings (in general), bananas and paint brush strokes.
Karuna is a 28-year-old young artist who has shot to fame within a short span of time. An M A (Museology) from Vadodara University, and MFA from the S N School of Performing Arts, Hyderabad, she qualified in the UGC National Eligibility Test for lecturership in 2004, and has been awarded the National Scholorship (Graphics) by the Govt. of India for the years 2005-2007, the A P State Merit Scholarship for higher education (MFA - 2003-05), and the University of Hyderabad merit scholarship in MFA (Print-Making - 2003-05).
She also has numerous awards to her credit - she got University gold medal from the University of Hyderabad (2005), the A P State Award for graphics from the P S Telugu University (2007), a cash award for painting in the 77th All-India Exhibition, AIFACS, New Delhi (2005), a gold medal for graphic print by the Indian Royal Academy of Art & Culture, Karnataka (2005), a cash award for graphic print at the All-India Art Exhibition by the Hyderabad Art Society (2004), the South Zone Youth Festival Award at Chennai (2003), a cash award for graphic print at the All-India Exhibition, SCZCC, Nagpur (2002) , a gold medal for graphics at the All-India Art Exhibition, Jharkhand (2002), and many honourable mentions and high commendable merit certificates, throughout her career till now.
Apart from the above she also had several mural shows, group shows and art camps in Hyderabad, Vadodara and New Delhi.
