If you are looking for sheer quantity, then this is perhaps as good as it gets. Visual art enthusiasts are in for a once-a-year treat as the 16-day state-level art exhibition goes underway on the 31st of this month. This is the 5th Andhra Pradesh State-Level Art Exhibition being held, and about 170 artists from all over the state sent in their paintings, sculptures, graphics and drawings in response to the announcement made by the University. And 140 of these selected by university selection committee will be on display at this exhibition.
Ten exquisite works have been chosen for a cash award of Rs. 10,000 each. These awards will be presented at the inaugural function to be held at the University auditorium on the 31st evening at 6.00pm. Tourism Minister E Peddi Reddy will be the chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Acharya N Gopi would preside over the function and the renowned artist K Rajaiah will participate as guest of honor.
