Sri Sarveshwara Natya Mandali is celebrating the completion of 127 years of Padya Natakalu in a grand way. It is inviting several hundred of artists and theatre enthusiasts to a 3-day festival. Each day will see one Padya Natakam performed in the evening.
The programs starts at 6pm each day. The first day will see Sri Krishna Tulabharam presented in memory of E Raghuramaiah, the second day will see Ramanjaneya Yudham in the memory of Ubba Ankaiah, and the final day will see Sri Krishna Rayabaram in the memory of Shanmukha Anjaneyulu.
All the above personalities are reputed, and known to enchant audiences with their performances. Each Padya Natakam will see 20 artists taking part, and thus 60 artists will take part in this 3-day theatre festival.
Sri Sarveshwara Natya Mandali was established in 1974 by J Raja Babu to promote Padya Natakalu (songs-based dramas). Padya Natakalu originally started 127 years back. Raja Babu, 47 years old, is a Nandi awardee (year 2000), and has been promoting Padya Natakalu for the last 25 years. He has performed in India and America.
