The Annual Golconda Cultural kickstarts on 28th April, at Taramati Baradari. This year's edition of the fest will feature three programs on day one and two on day two. Noted musicians like city lad Karunya, flautist Pandit Ronu Mazumdar, violinists Kumaresh and Ganesh, saxophonist Kadiri Gopalnath, percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, the Wadali Brothers and Begum Parveen Sultana will perform during the two-day event, which also features a light-hearted Hindi play, Taj Mahal Ka Tender.
Today, the second and final day, Taj Mahal Ka Tender, a Hindi comedy play, will be staged. The play is written by Ajay Shukla and directed by Salim Arif. Noted artistes like Rakesh Bedi, Avtar Gill, Rajan Kapur, Pramod Dubey and Omprakash Sharma play the central characters.
What would happen if the bureaucracy of today, with all its systems and red tape, were to be given the task of constructing the Taj Mahal? This hilarious play explores that possibility. The system is so flawed that it milks the available resources for personal gains and takes years in the process, and this is a light-hearted look at the filth called the babus.
The entry tickets are priced at Rs. 200 per head for the day's events. For further details, please contact APTDC at 2326-2151 or the venue at 2352-0172, 2352-1884.
