There is more to Tamilnadu than Jayalalitha, Karunanidhi and reservations. Okay, even if those mentions killed all your appetite, reading this will rekindle all of it!
The Malgudi Southern Cuisine restaurant is organising a Tamil Nadu Food festival from 27th April to 6th May. A special chef Sathiya from Chennai along with his two lady appam specialists have been flown to prepare some traditional dishes of Tamil Nadu.
Sathiya will prepare tongue-tickling flavors from Kovai, Ramnad, Madurai, Arcot, Tanjore, Tirunelveli and Virudhunagar, all under one roof. You can experience the pure taste of Vella Appam, Khaima Aduku Idly Roast, Elaneer Kozhambu, Chuppal Kari Kozhambu, Virutha Meen Kozhambu, Urundai More Kozhambu, Pal Kaikari Kootu, Kozho Kootu Kozhambu, Ambur Attu Iraichi Biriyani and Eraal Thokku, and desserts like Muttai Pausi, Aadi Inippu Koozho, Pal Kozhakatai and many more.
These cuisines have been the staple of people of Tamilnadu for years, but now have become rare due to the fast-paced life, with few homes finding time to spend on preparing them. They are slowly slipping out of the memory for many foodies, who had enjoyed these in their homes for years. To infuse new life into these dying cuisines, Malgudi is organising this festival.
The festival is open for both lunch and dinner till 6th May, and the dishes can be had a la carte. It is on at both the restaurants - in Lifestyle Building, Begumpet, and in Road No. 2, Banjara Hills.
