Swami Live At B&C

The desi rock band from England, Swami, will be performing this Sunday night at the Bottles & Chimney Club. Known for its innovative Indo-Western mix music, Swami has rocked many places in England, and is now making its presence felt around the globe.

Swami is a critically-acclaimed British-Indian rap/alt/bhangra band from Birmingham, England. It is also the pseudonym of the band's lead performer, producer, DJ and guitarist DJ Swami (real name Diamond Duggal), who founded the band with his drummer brother Subs (real name Simon Duggal). Though 'Swami' traditionally refers to a Hindu teacher, the name is an abbreviation of the English phrase 'So Who Am I?'

The members of the band are Diamond (aka DJ Swami) on the guitars/decks/keys/vocals, S-Endz and Liana on the vocals, Subs on the drums and vocals, and Bobby P on the dhol. The band has composed and released five albums, Desi Nu Skool Beatz (1999), BhangraDotCom (2002), DesiRock (2004), So Who Am I (2005) and Equalize (2007), all of which are big hits in the UK and India.
