Rayalaseema sheds its factionist image. See it in the bhajan act today.
The Rayaseema Arts Theatre, in association with the Rayalaseema Janapadha Kala Karula Sangam, is presenting a 2-day arts festival of Rayalaseema called Rayalaseemotsavam.
For the past 3 to 4 years, cinema has depicted Rayalaseema as a place rampant with violence and factionism. This festival is being organised to shake away the image that the silver screen has projected. This festival aims to promote the arts, culture and history of Rayalaseema, and to create awareness among people about the region.
Classical dances of that area, Harikatha, Chakka Bhajan, Tolu Bommlata, and modern plays like Harishchandra Natakam will be performed by the artists of the Kondapalli Veera Bhadraiya Brundam. There are 200 other artists expected to be participating in this festival.
On this occasion the famous Rayalaseema Rathna award is being presented to 4 people from Rayalaseema. They are: Finance Joint Secretary, Bala Subramanium, IAS; Additional Commissioner Of The Traffic Department, A K Khan; Gastroentology Specialist, Dr. Nageshwar; and Industrialist, Tota Subbaraidu.
The guests for this festival are Nalluri Kiran Kumar Reddy; Ex-MLA, T V Venkatesh; Gopinath Reddy, IAS; Poet, Rama Reddy; Rajya Sabha Member, C Ramachandraya; Tourism Secretary, Nagi Reddy; and Chandra Mouli, IAS.
