Andhra and Tamil Nadu have a new cause to fight for, apart from the Kaveri waters - dance ballets.
The South Indian Cultural Association is organising a 3-day dance festival called Nrityutsav - 2005. This 45 year old cultural organisation aims at promoting the traditional South Indian dance forms.
On the first day of the festival, 14th June, there will be a Kuchipudi recital by the reputed dancer and Padmashree recipient, Jaya Rama Rao, and Vanasree Rao.
On the second day, 15th June, there will be a Kuchipudi dance ballet called Stri Trayam performed by Deepika Reddy and Adit Narayana, who are the disciples of the dance guru Venpathu Chinna Satyanarayana.
On the 16th, there will be a Bharatanatyam solo performance by Bhavani Raman, from Nagpur, who is trained in Kala Kshetra style of Bharatanatyam dancing.
The sponser for the event is the State Bank Of India. Entry to this dance festival is strictly through invitation or donor passes.
