Raymond Corbier, a sculptor, has a wonder wife Sylvia, whom he adores. In order to save a passionate admirer from committing suicide as she does not respond to his advances, Sylvia, a perfect wife, is forced to lie to her husband for the first time in her life. This lie endangers their happiness.
Convinced that Sylvia is having an affair with Germain (the admirer), Raymond declares his love for Margucrite, the unfaithful wife of Gastov, his best friend. During a stay as an inter resort, the four of them face a number of comical situations. Eventually, at a costume ball, Raymond and Sylvia reconcile here as Gastov is left with his misfortune.
