Sunidhi Chauhan got all the attention in the world a budding singer could get, way before cable TV swept in. The talented and popular singer has come a long way from being the child-artist who once wore frills and bow on National TV, to being the playback singer for movies like Mast, Jungle, Mission Kashmir etc.
The 20-year-old crooner has made a lot of sacrifice to hold on to her passion for singing. She was in the first year of junior college when she left her studies to put all her energy and time into singing. The result of this is evident in her songs.
While we do have connoisseurs for "filmi" music in the city, a larger chunk of the Gen-X loves to be associated with the music of the West; one cause for the fall in the TRP ratings for many film-related music shows on television. Even the attendance in Indi-pop events is down. Whether that will effect Sunidhi's concert in any way remains to be seen when she performs in town.
