They're charging Rs. 200 for entry to a classical music and dance festival. So imagine the kind of people performing.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Limited is organising a grand Music & Dance Festival, from 8th to 10th December, at Taramati Baradari Culture Complex on Gandipet Road, Ibrahimbagh, where some highly talented and established musicians of India will be performing. The 3-day fest includes performances by Dr L Subramaniam & Kavita Subramaniam, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Deepika Reddy, Devayani, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Purbayan Chatterjee, Mohd Vakil and others.
Today, the inaugural day, Deepika Reddy will be presenting a Kuchipudi recital. Deepika was initiated into classical dance in the Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam styles, by Sumathi Kaushal, at a rather young age, and later on trained under the inspiring guidance and tutelage of Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, maestro par-excellence in Kuchipudi style of dance.
Under Dr Vempati, Deepika blossomed into a dancer of repute, being able to quickly grasp the advanced principles of the dance. Blessed with a pair of large, expressive eyes, fluid, swinging movements and stage presence, Deepika has become a name to reckon with. She portrays every aspect of abhinaya and nritta, exceedingly well.
Deepika has a Post Graduation in Travel and Tourism. She has travelled all over the country and the world, performing in the presence of world dignataries, winning their appreciation and accolades. She has recently toured Belgrade and Turkey, for dance festivals organised by the Indian Council of Cultural Relations.
The entry to this festival is through daily tickets of Rs. 200 per head, or season passes of Rs. 500 per head for 3 days of the festival. For tickets and other details, please contact APTDC Ltd at 2329-8456/57 or 2345-3036/0165, or the venue at 2352-0172/1884.
