The All India Tennis Association, with support from A P Lawn Tennis Association and the Hyderabad District Tennis Association, is organising the Brij All-India Tennis Tournament, from 4th to 9th December, at SAAP Tennis Complex in Lal Bahadur Stadium. The tournament is being promoted by Pramod Kumar Agarwal in memory of his father Brij Agarwal.
Top players from around the country will be competing at this national-level tournament, which has two categories: the Under-12 and Under-14 age categories, in both boys and girls. There are 32 players in the boys and girls singles, and 32 players in the girls doubles, in both the age categories.
In the Under-12 age category, Alla Abhishek is the top seed among the boys and Anushka Bhargava is the top seed among the girls, and both are from Andhra Pradesh. In the Under-14 category, Chetan Pandit and M Divija of Andhra Pradesh are the top seeds in the boys and girls sections. All the matches in the Under-12 category will be under the Talent Series, while matches in the Under-14 category will be under the National Series, even though both are National-level ranking tournaments.
The matches will be held in the best of three tie-break sets format, with no advantage system, and on synthetic courts. The entry to all the matches is free. Please contact Pramod Kumar Agarwal, Tournament Director, at 2341-7940/94404-22920 for further details.
