Chitramayee - State Gallery of Fine Arts is organising an exhibition of paintings by V Sudhakanth, from 8th to 13th December. There will about 30 recent works of Sudhakanth, all of them contemporary paintings with acrylic on canvas.
The vibrant colors and his forceful drawing draw your attention to Sudhakanth's paintings, and they also portray the artist's objective interests. These include the human and animal forms, and the constantly recurring violin. His style affiliates itself to the figural types of Picasso and Moore.
Sudhakanth has a Graduation Diploma in Fine Arts from Ken School of Arts, Bangalore. He is an upcoming artist, having participated in solo exhibitions at Telugu Univeristy in 2003 and at Shilparamam this year, and in group exhibitions at the Telugu University. He has received the Best Painting Award in 2000 from the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare of AP.
