One of the city's biggest college cricket tournaments is on this fortnight. And it's going to be more competitive than what you will be seeing on ESPN!
The Department of Physical Education, Osmania University, in association with Sardar Patel College and Hindi Mahavidyalaya, is organising an Inter-College Cricket Tournament, from 13th to 27th December. A total of 68 OU-affiliated colleges are participating in this tournament, divided in two groups.
Group A has S P College, BJR Govt. Degree College, Ken Degree College, Bhavan's New Science College, AV College, IIMC, OU Science College, Vasavi Engineering College, Dharmavanth Degree College, Pragathi Degree College, Loyola Academy, Sultan-Ul-Uloom, Railway Degree College, Vivekananda PG College, RG Kedia, OU Law, M J Engineering, Viveka Vardhini Evening College, Govt. College (Khairtabad), OU Engineering College, Hindi Mahavidyalaya, Matrusri PG Institute, Badruka (Day) College, Aurora PG College, Dr B R Ambedkar College, St Joseph, Pragati Mahavidyalaya, PG College (Secunderabad), S R Patwari College, Deccan Engineering College, Vijaynagar Comm., and Aurora Degree College.
Group B has Bhavans Vivekananda, Sri Sai Degree College, CBIT, City College, Badruka Evening College, St Patricks, NB Science College, Omega Degree College, Nrupatunga Degree College, OU Arts College, MVSR Engineering College, Sri Ramchandra College, Roda Mistry, OU Technology College, Mumtaz College, OU Commerce College, Anwar-ul-Uloom, Nizam College, Little Flower (Trimulgherry), Shiva Shivani, St Francis Degree College, BBCIT, Avanti Degree & PG, Matrusri lnst., Signodia, Princeton Degree, Keshav Memorial, Lalita Degree & PG College, Viveka Vardhini Day College, St Mary's College (Yousufguda), Amjad Ali Khan Business College, PG College (Saifabad) and Wesley Degree.
All the matches will be played in the knock-out format, with each match consisting of 45 overs a side. The matches of Group A will be played at various grounds of the Osmania University campus, while the matches of Group B will be played at the Osmania University campus, Nizam College, Bhavans, and the PG College Secunderabad.
SP College and Aurora Degree College of Group A, and Bhavans Vivekananda and Wesley Degree College have recieved four round byes, and they directly start their campaign from the quarter-final stage.
