In case you haven't noticed, there's a flurry of art exhibitions on in town. In case you have, hopefully you like it. In case you are, here's reason to be happier.
Chitramayee, State Gallery of Fine Arts is hosting a group exhibition of paintings by 7 artists from West Bengal, from 26th to 31st December. The artists are Anup Kumar Karar and Biraj Kumar Paul from Howrah, Dr Bibekananda Mukherjee, Malay Chandan Saha and Tarun Chakraborty from Kolkata, Sanjoy Banerjee from Aurobindo Nagar and Dibyendu Basu from 24 Parganas.
The exhibition contains about 39 paintings that have been done recently by the artists. Most of the paintings are figurative paintings of urban and rural people, except for those by Malay Chandan Saha who is exhibiting landscape paintings, and Dibyendu Basu who is exhibiting abstracts.
