REVIEW FOR HYDERABAD POLO SEASON 2009
Polo is the fancy of the rich, and a serious sport for some. The Hyderabad Polo Season 2009 will be held from 15th to 29th September at the Bison Polo Grounds. The tournament will begin at 8am.
4 tournaments are scheduled for the season:
- Prince of Berar Cup (04 goal tournament) from 15th to 16th September
- Army Commander Trophy (08 goal tournament) from 18th to 19th September
- AP Tourism Trophy (06 goal tournament) from 25th to 26th September
- Exhibition Match on 29th September
The tournaments are of 4 chukkers of 7 minutes and 30 seconds each. The prize money is Rs. 1,00,000 for an 8-goal tournament, Rs 75,000 for a 6-goal tournament, and Rs. 25,000 for a 4-goal tournament.
The teams likely to participate in various competitions are President's Body Guard, National Defence Academy, Indian Navy, Army Service Corps, Remount & Veterinary Corps, Artillery Centre Nasik, and some local teams of Hyderabad.
