Corporates can now play some T20 over the weekends and spend the rest of the week wishing the board-room were a pitch. And Hari Sadu were the batsman. And if you're a batsman, you could wish he were your bat. Think Talent, an event management company, is conducting an Independence Cup tournament for corporate employees, from 15th August to 3rd November. The matches will be played from 8am to 5:30pm, at multiple venues.
About 20 to 25 teams are participating in the tournament. Teams hail from companies including GE Money, ILFS, Capgemini, Citi Bank, UBS, CSC, Deloitte, Coke, ICICI Lombard and Dell.
These teams will be divided in to 5-6 groups, each comprising of 5 teams, who will play matches among one other. Each team will get to play a minimum of 4 matches in the league stage. The top 2 teams from each group will then move on to play the knock-out rounds, that will include pre-quarters, quarters, semi-finals and finals. Matches will be organised only on Saturdays and Sundays.
A win will fetch the winning team 4 points, and a loss will mean no points. 15 sets of gear would be provided to the teams. Additional sets of gear will be provided on payment. T-shirts & caps will be given to all the participants. A prize money equivalent to Rs. 40,000 will be given to the winning team, along with a team dinner. The other honours are Man Of The Match (for all matches), Man Of The Series, Best Batsman and Best Bowler.
Think Talent is an event management company that conducts of sports events for corporates, schools & clubs, apart from client and sponsor servicing. It was started by a group of enthusiastic professionals to encourage corporate sporting activities, and this is their 4th tournament in Hyderabad.
